FAQ

Hey, I want to join this game!

Great! However, please be aware that only players who are friends with the head mod can join this game initially. Once it's been open for a little bit, existing players will be allowed to invite their friends in, after clearing them with the head mod first. There are no limits on how many players one person can invite to the game.

So this is an AU game, right?

Yep! This means canon characters must be AUed into the setting. Your Mushroom Kingdom and Earth do not exist in this universe!

How much can I AU my characters?

As much or as little as you'd like, so long as they fit the setting! They must be some sort of monster. Any kind of monster is okay! Fantasy monsters (werewolves, vampires, witches, shapeshifters, genies, ghosts, etc.), monsters based on real-world animals, even things like Pokemon, Digimon, and Personas! Feel free to be as creative as you'd like.

Your character can also be a full feral monster in appearance and ability, but even then they will be forced to use a more humanoid form while in the college. Outside of campus, though? Go nuts.

So wait, any kind of monster? What about canon monsters, like Godzilla? Mothra? They don't have a ton of personality in their canon.

Those are totally allowed! In this case it would sort of be like a half-OC (or a minor character in non-AU games), taking the monster from their canon and then giving them personality that befits their canon self as much as possible. Don't fret too much about limiting yourself, though! You're not going to be looked down upon for winging it or delving a bit into the wild side when creating backstories and personalities for these characters.

If I play Godzilla or a type of kaiju, can their true form be bigger?

Yes! Not much bigger, though. Just enough to make it clear they're a force to be reckoned with in size. When they're in humanoid form, they can be a fairly tall character, or even the average height.

What about full OCs and canon OCs?

Both are totally and completely allowed, of course.

Who can I app my characters in as?

Students, teachers and staff, mostly. They must have some role within the college itself.

What about ages?

As this is a college, generally ages will range from 18-25. Sometimes you'll get the super-genius that managed to make their way into the college at 16 or something.

Does my character get a sweet mobile device?

You betcha. Everyone gets a smartphone to access the network and the campus' website. To actually do homework you'll probably have to visit the library if you don't have a laptop or something.

Can my monster be a villain?

Oh hell yes, they can. Monsters can be good or bad, and there's plenty of gangs and budding villain type groups. Wanna cause trouble? Do it. If someone stages a hostile takeover of the school, characters can fight back... or even join up with the bad guys! Wanna instigate a war? Well... best leave that one for a player plot.

How many characters can I play?

There's no hard limit, and as there's no AC, there's no real reason to even have a cap of any kind. Just don't character squat, ok? If you feel you're not going to play a character, consider removing them so someone else can give them a shot.

I want to app a character in that someone else dropped. How will that work?

Either you'll work it out with the previous player and keep playing the original version with their permission, or you'll be able to roll up a similar AU with a different name so they aren't the exact same. They can be totally confused for one another, if that helps!

How does claiming a character work?

Simply fill out the form on the claims page and submit a comment! After that, join the comms! Once you're in, you can play, even if your character hasn't been added to the taken list yet.

So this thread is heading into NSFW territory...

If any threads are heading that way, please take it to a journal and lock it!

I have a question that hasn't been answered yet!

Submit a comment on this page and once it gets answered, if it's a general question, it will get added to this page!
